A Mexican woman who police say stabbed her boyfriend to death in Mexico has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Rafael Guzman, 27, who is also a U.S. citizen, pleaded guilty in U.N. headquarters in New York on Wednesday to first-degree murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

He was sentenced to two years in federal prison, followed by one year of supervised release.

A video of the attack surfaced on social media in April, showing Guzman holding a knife in his left hand and holding his right hand behind his back as he stabs his then-girlfriend, then her boyfriend.

In the video, Guzman appears to scream, “I’m not your baby, I’m your husband, I love you.”

The attack occurred at a home Guzman owned on April 19, when she allegedly attacked her boyfriend with a knife after a disagreement over money.

Her boyfriend was rushed to the hospital with stab wounds, but was not seriously injured.

The pair had been together for about a year.

Guzman, who has been living in the U.K., was arrested on February 2 in Texas and extradited to Mexico.

Her lawyer did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
