How India is making its travel restrictions more strict
Indian tourists are being banned from travelling to some destinations in the country after a series of terrorist attacks.
The country has issued travel restrictions to travellers from some major cities and several other cities have been placed on a “restricted” list.
There are also restrictions in some of the main Indian tourist destinations, such as Guwahati, Jaipur and Kolkata, and the government has advised people to avoid travelling to certain parts of the country.
“We are making it more difficult to enter India,” Indian travel officer Jain Kumar said.
“We are trying to get people out of India.”
India has experienced a spate of terror attacks in recent months, most recently the July 3 attack on a bus carrying students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, where two bombs exploded.
Two people were killed and four injured when two bombs went off in a crowded bus near the university’s campus.
India has a high suicide rate.
India has one of the highest rates of suicide in the world.
