A federal judge has blocked Texas’ controversial immigration restrictions, allowing people to return home without a visa.

Texas is the first state to impose a nationwide travel ban, while the Trump administration has not yet released a final list of individuals who would be subject to the measure.

The move comes as Trump and his administration have faced criticism for their treatment of refugees, some of whom were born in the U.S.

The federal judge blocked the measure as unconstitutional, saying it violated the Constitution’s ban on the establishment of a national religion and interfered with Texas’ right to regulate immigration.

“Texas has not issued any formal announcement on whether it will continue to enforce the restrictions or take other steps to enforce them,” said Julie Robinson, a spokeswoman for the U
